Burberry Prorsum Fall/Winter 2012 Collection in London was timeless fashion. The attention to detail was incredible and some may say accessorized too much but I’ve never been one of them. My favorite pieces were the grey wool military coat, the owl tee shirts, studded gloves and the purple quilted coat at the end. However I could have done away with the bows on everything! I also was not so fond of the big pockets on the hips. What woman wants to add bulk to their hip area?

Mark Fast showed his collection at London Fashion Week today with a color palette ranging from blush, muted greys, camel brown, black and white stripes to a beautiful jewel toned purple. Whilst I liked the thick knitted sweaters and sweater dresses, it wasn’t anything I hadn’t seen before. The makeup was very plain with a natural face and nude lips which kept the focus on the clothing. Paired with nude Christian Louboutin shoes and messy braids kept the collection understated yet fashion forward. My favorite of the entire collection was the purple mixed with black at the end of the show. It had a very 20′s flapper feel to the esthetic and the mix of casual and dressy was interesting to look at. Plus you wouldn’t need to buy any jewelry with these pieces. Aw the power of the internet has bestowed upon us the glorious virtues that are London Fashion Week. In today’s digital age, there is no need to travel across the pond to see some of the best fashion in the world walk the runways. But instead, we can lounge in our beds in the comfort of our footy pajamas, warm milk and cookies (fat free that is) whilst immersing ourselves in beautiful things. And so I bring you your golden ticket to a front row seat at London’s Fashion Week.
Enjoy Fashionistas!

Fashion socialite Zelda Kaplan passed away in the front row at Fashion Week yesterday. She was attending the Joanna Mastroianni show at The Studio at Lincoln Center when witnesses say she slumped over as the second model hit the runway. She was given CPR and rushed to the hospital but she couldn’t be revived.
Richie Rich told us, “Passing away in the front row was how it was meant to be. Zelda loves fashion, so she died for fashion. She would have wanted to go out in style. Zelda always said, ‘Live, live, live and have fun’ . . . I hope the angels are holding her right now.”
She was a fixture on the social and fashion scene in New York and was known to be able to out party even Paris Hilton. She lived by her own rules and loved the individuality of fashion. Encouraging people to have their clothes tailored to fit instead of fitting in with the masses. In the 60′s she moved to New York from New Jersey and became a party and fashion-world fixture, but also made regular visits to Africa to work on human rights issues. She told The Post in 2010, “I wish more people would have made for them. But so many Americans want to look like everybody else . . . I hate to wear what everybody else is wearing . . . I don’t think people should be happy to be a clone.
I guess the show must go on as the fashion show never skipped a beat. I know that models are instructed to never stop the show regardless of what is happening in the audience and I’m sure they had no idea of the gravity of the situation. My heart goes out to Zelda and her family and friends. But given her big personality and love of fashion, there would be no better way to go. Fashion will always remember you dear Zelda! Peace be with you.
